Testimonials

Autism is elusive and full of myths. The average person that does NOT know autism might perceive a child on the spectrum as a "brat", or even use ignorant clichés such as "antisocial," and "lives in their own world." These myths are quite harmful. These myths cannot be further from the truth. At its core, autism is a social communication disorder that makes it difficult for our children to establish friendships.  Yet they do WANT to be included and they do WANT friends. Saying that children with autism "lack interest" is like saying that a person in a wheelchair doesn’t "want" to run.

This is why e’s Club is so important. Unfortunately, the public community services in our state are lacking options to serve the socio-emotional needs of teens with autism. E’s club is a pioneer in designing the perfect answer to this challenge and has been a haven for my child. At e’s club, Antonio is respected and celebrated for who he is. They make every single accommodation to the emotional and social needs of children with High Functioning Autism. There is kindness.  There is respect.  There is pride. Antonio can come to e’s club and hang out with other kids that are just like him, without being judged. This has been liberating.

We live more than 35 miles away from e’s club and we eagerly drive because the benefits are priceless. We hope e’s club continues to receive support and keeps growing and serving more kids like Antonio.

From the bottom of my heart: Thank you! – Catherine P.

MJ loves Halloween; it's his favorite holiday. His middle school had a fall dance Thursday October 26 that he was looking forward to.  When I asked him if he danced, he said he danced by himself.  When I asked him if anyone talked to him, he said no.  It broke my heart and I could see that he was disappointed in the outcomes.  That fall dance was lonely for him but when he went to e's club Halloween party on October 28th it was a whole different story.  MJ talked about how much fun he had and the new friends he made.  Thank you so much for bringing this club to the Woodstock area.  MJ craves friends and e's club is facilitating this.

e’s Club is a special place for our daughter Lexie.  e’s Club is a place where she feels comfortable and surrounded by friends.  Upon leaving she always asks when she will get to go back and if we miss a week she is always disappointed.  We can’t thank Stacy, Darren and team enough for e’s Club, it has afforded our daughter the social environment she simply wouldn’t have otherwise. -Sandy and Alan

Tony was apprehensive at first and was very quiet and a little scared during the "interview" process.  However, when he walked out of the room and saw Tyler playing an airplane game on the x-box, all nerves were gone.  When Tyler came out of his interview, they talked and got to know each other, and both asked if they were coming on Friday!  Another kid who knows all the facts about planes and could talk about it for hours?  Score!  It makes me so incredibly happy to see my son easily socializing with another child. I'm so excited for him for Friday night.
